Rating: - Not exactly what I thought
Camera works well but has design difficulties,,, one of the areas ...the location of the SD card is cumbersome and the card is very difficult to remove. The photo quality is not clear in an off and on shadey area and the camera works poorly in cold, very damp and snowy weather.
I needed the camera to track Elk on the wooded mountainside of backyard.

I bought a Moultrie game cam last spring and used it all summer/fall. After that much time in the field, I must say that I'm a little disappointed. My negative observations are listed below.
1. Too long of a lag for taking video/pictures. My best example was a grazing cow that showed up center in the game cam, then grazed her way to the right of the screen after 30 seconds. Rating: - Worked with quirks
The first one I got rattled when I took it out of the box. Took it a part and found a metal rod floating around. Called Moultrie and was told common problem, it's the hinge pin for the battery. Reinstalled, no biggie.
Then took some shots inside house pointed at dog door. We have a cat inviting himself in and I wanted to catch it. Took some shots, could not read on PC per instructions. Moultrie uses a .CAM file that my PC won't read. Not mentioned on their site. Then tried to view on TV ... Read More
Rating: - good value for the money
I have had two of these cameras for a year and a year now, excellent battery life(up to a 8 months)- good photos(both night and day) Do not use these without a bear cage in areas that have black bears- the IR glow attracts them and then they play with the camera until they break it. I have had to glue/screw new brackets on twice now. Further, the IR glow will attract other animals to this camera at night- fox-coyote-deer-coons- just spread some sunflower seeds and you will see what I mean! All are curious ... Read More
