Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Amy Grant's first Christmas album is not only one of the best recordings of her career, it's easily one of the best contemporary Christmas collections available. Grant's Christian beliefs have been incorporated into her music for years, and maybe it's the artistic translation of the depth of her faith that makes these songs so inspiring. 'Emmanuel' and 'Angels We Have Heard on High' have Grant's vocals soaring, especially on the sustained chorus of the latter. Her country roots show nicely in 'Tennessee Christmas,' while 'Sleigh Ride' is as fun as it is romantic. 'Heirlooms' is particularly poignant--maybe not to the point of 'hand me a tissue,' but it's powerful all the same. A must for fans, and a good holiday addition for those looking for a Christmas record that comes without the cobwebs. --Steve Gdula

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Christmas Album
This is one of my favorite Christmas albums. The music is mostly traditional which is what I prefer. And the original Christmas music is lovely. My family loves this music and it is one of the first collections we put on.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Amy Grant's freshman Christmas effort quite good
This is the first, chronologically, of three Amy Grant Christmas albums. Each subsequent album is better than the one before. Highlights of this album, for me, are her cover of Michael W. Smith's rather sparse "Emmanuel" and a new musical setting of the lyrics for "O Little Town of Bethlehem" - very fresh and somewhat exhilirating. I also enjoy the lovely "Tennesse Christmas" which I first heard performed by the country group Alabama.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Blessings
Wanna bless someone's Christmas? Buy this CD as a gift for them. In 1983 when I first bought the album--on cassette--my kids were kids. They are now adults with their own kids--and we all still listen to the album every year at Christmas. Always.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simply The Best
This is simply my favorite Christmas album. Keep in mind this was 1980's but the production still holds today and the arrangements are superior. Amy Grant never claimed to be God's gift to singing but she does a great job of delivering just what the songs needed. An essential CD to own if you love Christmas music. It helps to be a fan already.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Christmas cd!!!
This Amy Grant Christmas cd is really fantastic and it one of my absolute favorite Christmas cds. It has a great mix of uplifting and inspiring songs as well as some classics. My favorite is "Love Has Come" and Tennessee Christmas. This is a great cd for any collection and Amy's voice is fantastic.
