Rating: - julie London
This was a singer that somehow slipped under the radar for me. I am so glad I decided to buy a cd of hers. What a terrific voice-very sultry and jazzy. A must have for jazz lovers.
Rating: - Sultry and Classic
The "Very Best of Julie London" is a collection of songs to share with your significant other on a rainy/snowy day, on an evening after work, or any time you want to get into the mood for a little romance.
The songs are classics and Ms. London's voice is sultry and seductive, which will create just the proper mood for.....
I would recommend this item to anyone who wants some wonderful, kick-back listening.
Rating: - My dream lady
I am not a Jazz aficiando or any kind of fan, but i've always found Julie L's music entertaining. Her CDs are in a group i play from time to time, usually while driving. Her attitude demands attention. the music is mostly old standards. The music and she are icons of a time when the lyrics actually were listened to.
Rating: - Excellent CD
A lot of songs for the money. Julie's voice was classic torch singer. Many of the songs are just her, a guitar and bass. Some big band songs too. You won't be disappointed with this.
Rating: - Ever green, ever gold!
Someone may think that a double CD of Julie London songs is too much of a good thing, but really it's just about right. She is almost a genre of her own, perhaps the only female "crooner" and her cool, crisp delivery transports the listener and adds something to these songs, most of them very well known in their own right. As beautiful as talented, she was very much a "product" of her era, and enticing to us that came later.
