Product Description:
From the New York Times bestselling author of Captain’s Fury and the Dresden Files novels.

Tavi of Calderon, now recognized as Princeps Gaius Octavian and heir to the crown, has achieved a fragile alliance with Alera’s oldest foes, the savage Canim. But when Tavi and his legions guide the Canim safely to their lands, his worst fears are realized.

The dreaded Vord—the enemy of Aleran and Cane alike—have spent the last three years laying waste to the Canim homeland. And when the Alerans are cut off from their ships, they find themselves with no choice but to fight shoulder to shoulder if they are to survive.

For a thousand years, Alera and her furies have withstood every enemy, and survived every foe.

The thousand years are over…

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Entertaining & fun
There is no question that the Codex Alera series are excellent and the 5th book continues the trend. Would have liked a bit more character development that was present in the previous books as each character had been introduced and had grown & matured over the years. Still, Jim Butcher is an excellent writer, and I will be eagerly awaiting the follow-up in this series.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Within the Canim Homeland
Princep's Fury (2008) is the fifth fantasy novel in the Codex Alera series, following Captain's Fury. In the previous volume, Tavi learned that he was the son of lady Isana and the heir of Gaius Sextus. Assuming the authority of his position, Tavi calls a truce with the Canim. He also has the First Aleran Legion assist the Canim in preparing ships to return to Canea, their homeland.

In this novel, Gaius Octavian is having trouble adjusting to his new role. As Princep and heir, he ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Enthralling Read
Jim Butcher is among my favorite authors for a reason. I am a huge fan of the Codex Alera and the Harry Dresden series and I eagerly anticipated this new release, "Princeps' Fury". I was more than pleased. The book was compelling, exciting, even gripping. I judge a book on its ability to lose yourself in it, and this book suceeded very well. Jim Butcher does something unusual; he will develop a character in one book that seems evil, then alter our perception in a later book so that his or her ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another Hit !
Fantastic ! I laughed, I cried and I devoured this book! I'm just sorry it's almost over ! Does the next one really have to be the last? I still can't wait for the next book!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It was Okay but starting to lack content and get drawn out
It was Okay but starting to lack content and get drawn out. The story is starting to get a bit drawn out, still a good read but was hopping that the next book and this one would have been combined. Overall a good book to read and enjoy
